A Reclamation From Within

51 Percent 03:46
Fed up with all these “I don’t care”’s, tired of your indifference. We let foreigns pay our dues, all based on prejudice. No one can deny responsibility. There’s no chance to wash our hands out of it. Xenophobic and ignorant, we’ve become the architects of our own downfall. You wave the country flag, standing tall and proud while this land dies on your behalf. Nothing but delusion. Count me out! Please count me out of this. No, I’m not a pessimist. I’m not the one to paint it black, despite l drown – drown in blank despair. Past can’t be undone, it seems all hope is lost. Will there ever be a change? We’re standing on the brink, though I won’t stop to try to avoid this wreckage. I won’t get pushed aside. Each and every day is a whole new chance to rearrange. The ties that bound – all torn apart. We’re always within reach, but losing touch. 51 percent - seizing control. 51 percent - letdown after letdown. 51 percent. - your border won’t save you. 51 percent - won’t let you silence me.

Cavemen 02:51
How come it’s so dark in here and who turned the light off anyway? Have we climbed the peak of our modern times or just become cavemen again? Just take a look around: Passivity and apathy! Or am I the one who’s already blind to see? Hands in pockets and shut mouths won’t reconstruct what we’ve torn town. We’re lacking a close look while sitting aimless and stuck. How far can we push the edge in this damn rat race? Where’s the look on to the side for those left in the rain? Compassionate we call us, close-minded we do act. Mind over matter or matter over mind? Is this bare lie really all that we want from our lives? The boiling point has long been reached but I won’t sit here and wait. Resignation won’t take over me, I’ll try to stand my ground. There’s more to do than just killing time. I still feel young at heart. Still young at heart. It’s in your hands, every single day. To live your values - change the world. Time to stretch legs is well and surely over. If not now – then when? If we keep up this pace it’s shoveling our own graves. A happy ending? Just a fairytale. No happy ending.

1:51 AM 02:58
This uselessness, this pure senselessness. Values that I cannot comprehend. Can’t understand what’s on your mind, but for now these memories are etched so deep inside. Your acts of causeless violence: Sheer irrationality! Or just an act of pure frustration projected on a stranger? I’m losing faith in my generation. Searching for an answer which I know I’ll never find. Cause there’s no explanation for your attitude. Stay astray, carry on, keep wandering in the dark – on and on. Let this battleship sink deep...into oblivion. No way out of this abyss, no brighter days ahead, if you won’t realize that real strength is deep inside, so leave it all behind. Your fists will change things, that’s for sure, but only for the worse. I won’t let fear control my mind. Won’t let this anger eat me away. Won’t let hatred give a chance to spark. Or condescend to acts of false pride. Regain control on what’s inside. And after all I’ll rise back up and shine.

Too many years have passed to overcome this awkward silence. Kept walking on safe roads for way too damn long. But I’ve made my choice and I’m sorry that I have to let you down. Our goals seem to be different - I hope you can accept. Picking up the pieces of broken trust and indifference. This line’s gone dead and you haven’t noticed. So many tries to fix the missing link. What for? Failure time after time. Should I give up or take another worthless try? I find myself disillusioned. No longer can I wait in vain. I know you gave your best, but I am concerned you could’ve tried harder. Our story‘s one of many, I’m sad to see it‘s exemplary.

Old man you trudge along, strung out and tired to death. Scarred by daily struggle, out of touch and losing ground. You’ve got to optimize, you’ve got to satisfy, strive for a higher state. Kept paving your way to stay a part of this charade, kept swimming with the tide towards the golden sea. Divided from the ones, with whom you’ve shared your days. Once so closed now left behind. Maybe that’s the price to pay to drown in the depths of wealth. A quick look in the mirror: “Who’s staring at me?” The wrinkles on your face reveal more than you could ever tell. “How the fuck did I end up here? I never ever meant to lose my way. Have I just turned the page without learning from these past stages?” Graceful bird, trapped inside this golden cage your wings have been cut, handcuffs hold you at your place. Still you tweet the anthem of an unchained life, cause you’ve seen it all in your unburdened days. Still you can turn your head and break through this door, I’ll help you to escape. Take this one last chance and leave it all behind for your breakaway.

Consequences 04:13
How would you explain that your view is set all straight? Your hands being tied, not seeing what’s obliged. Ignoring all this pain. Has this destruction that you see already made you so numb? Nailed to the ground from this misery. Self-sorryness and forgetfulness won’t heal the wounds and undo the scars that we have caused over all these decades. Don’t you know or don’t you want to know? We’re painting pictures of a better place, but the blank pages that remain are small in numbers. Let them be well overthought and well filled in. So have you learned your lesson in compassion? Anticipate the consequences of your acts. The choice is yours. Go sort it out. But keep in mind, that for better or for worse we all leave our marks. And so I leave mine.
